This policy explains what personal information Master Key Automotive collects when you visit our website, call us or message us, why we use it, and the choices you have.
Who we are
Master Key Automotive is the trading name of Master Key Automotive Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17217075). Our registered office is 94 Sevenoaks Road, London SE4 1RE.
We are a mobile car locksmith working across South London and Surrey. For the purposes of UK data protection law, we are the "controller" of the personal information described in this policy.
How to contact us about your information
- Phone or WhatsApp: 07443 517578
- Post: Master Key Automotive Ltd, 94 Sevenoaks Road, London SE4 1RE
What information we collect
When you call us or message us on WhatsApp
- Your phone number and name
- What you tell us about the problem, your car (make, model, year, registration number) and your key
- Where you and the car are (address, postcode or location you share)
- Photos you choose to send us (for example of your key, the ignition or a warning light)
When you use our website
- Quick quote and WhatsApp form. If you type your registration number, postcode or a short note, the website puts it into a WhatsApp message for you. Nothing is sent until you press send in WhatsApp.
- Enquiry log. When you tap a Call or WhatsApp button, or send the WhatsApp form, our website keeps a short record of the enquiry: the date and time, which button you used, the page you were on, how you found us (for example Google search or an advert), and any registration number, postcode or problem you entered. We do not store your IP address in this log. We use it to know which enquiries came from the website and to follow up on jobs.
- Device and usage information. If you agree to analytics cookies, we collect information about how the website is used (see "Cookies" below).
When we do a job for you
- Details of the work, the price and how you paid
- Confirmation that we checked you are allowed to have a key made for the vehicle. For security, we may ask to see proof of ownership or permission to use the car (for example the V5C logbook and photo ID) before we make a key. We only keep what we need to show that the check was done.
Why we use your information, and our legal basis
What we use it for | Legal basis |
|---|---|
Answering your call or message, giving you a price and arrival time, and doing the job | To take steps you ask for before a contract, and to carry out the contract with you |
Checking ownership before we make a key, to prevent vehicle crime | Our legitimate interests, and yours, in preventing theft |
Keeping the enquiry log, understanding which adverts and pages bring enquiries, and improving our service | Our legitimate interests in running and improving our business |
Keeping records of jobs and payments | Legal obligation (tax and accounting law) |
Analytics and advertising cookies | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
We do not sell your information, and we do not send you marketing messages unless you ask for them.
Who we share your information with
We only share information with service providers that help us run the business, and only what they need:
- WhatsApp (Meta) — when you message us on WhatsApp
- Our phone network provider — when you call us
- Website hosting and database providers — Vercel and Neon, which host our website and store the enquiry log
- Google — Google Analytics and Google Ads, only if you accept those cookies; Google Business Profile if you contact us through it
- Our accountant, and HMRC where the law requires it
Some of these providers may process information outside the UK, for example in the United States. Where that happens, they use safeguards approved under UK law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep your information
- Enquiry log: deleted automatically after 12 months
- WhatsApp messages and call history: kept for up to 12 months, unless we need them for a job, a guarantee or a dispute
- Job and payment records: 6 years, as required by tax law
- Analytics data: in line with Google Analytics retention settings (up to 14 months)

- Advertising cookies (Google Ads) — help us see which adverts lead to calls and messages. Used only if you accept them.
You can accept or reject analytics and advertising cookies in the cookie banner, and change your choice at any time using the cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings.
